Reasons for SASSA Reapplication

You can lodge an SASSA reapplication request when you have any of the following reasons for declining your R350 SRD Application by SASSA or having your SASSA Application Failed.

  1. Identity Verification Failed: Your personal information provided on srd.sassa.gov.za might not match your information in the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) South Africa database. Please review and correct your typo errors. If your bank account needs to be updated, please change your bank account details and apply for reapplication now.
  2. Age ( 18-60 years): If your age is less than 18 years or more than 60 years at the time of Online SASSA Application submission, then you do not meet the eligibility criteria of SASSA eligibility clauses
  3. Alternative Income Source Identified: Your bank account balance during the SASSA application period was more than R624, thus crossing the minimum threshold of the amount limit. Withdraw the amount before reapplying for the SRD SASSA 350 grant.
  4. UIF Registered: If you were a beneficiary of Unemployment Insurance Funds, it might be difficult for you to get your SASSA Application approved at first stance. Make sure you have canceled this UIF grant before applying for SASSA SRD R350 grants online.
  5. NSFAS Funds Received: If you have been a beneficiary of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), your SASSA application will be declined.
  6. Other Social Grants Registered: You might have applied for other Social Grants simultaneously while staying in the reconsideration period.
